A field observation was performed to document the existing framing of the above mentioned
address. From the field observation, the existing roof structure was observed as 1 layer
Composition Shingle roofing over roof plywood supported by 2x10 Rafter @ 16" OC. The roof is
sloped at approximately 45 degrees and has a max rafter span of 19' 0" between supports.
Design Criteria:
• 2017 New York State Building Code (2015 IBC& IRC)
• Basic Wind Speed Vult= 130 mph (Vasd = 101 mph), Exposure B
• Ground Snow Load =20 psf
Our analysis is based on the information provided by Sunrun Inc. and is isolated only to the
areas where the modules are intended to be placed. After review of the field observation
report,the existing roof framing supporting the proposed solar panel layout has been
determined to meet or exceed the requirements based on our structural capacity calculations
in accordance with applicable building codes. Therefore, no structural upgrades are required.
