This design criteria is derived from the New York State Building Code 2010 Sections 1608 and 1609 respectively. Calculations were based on the worst condition with the unit experiencing a maximum wind load. The results provided a column deflection of 0.335" which is below the yield rating of the material. Snow loading calculations depicted a loading of 1130 lbs. per column. This value yields a factor of safety in excess of 34. Therefore, the column ratings are 30 times that of industry acceptable values for a vertical down load.
