POLICE CHIEF MARTIN FLATLEY: It starts on Monday, we got a very short two weeks notice on the academy starting and (inaudible) as of yet but they are all set to go through civil service and academy starting on Monday. it's about a six week academy and both of them will be attending and at the completion of that, they will be ready to take over. They do have a class after for marine law enforcement but the end of April, they will be ready to take over and as you know, Senior Bay Constable Andy Epple is retiring in April which brought this (inaudible). COUNCILMAN DINIZIO: And I am assuming the next resolution is the same thing? CHIEF FLATLEY: Yes, we went down the list and we interviewed on the list at the end of January, we had four people that we interviewed from our list, after the interviews we selected Kris Dimon as the full-time position. We had the money in our budget for the last two or three years for a part-time position to help out on the weekends but have not had the man power to fill it. so we broached that subject with Joe Hinton to see if he was interested in serving in the part- time capacity and he agreed to it, so he is going to go to the academy too but after the academy finishes, he will just.be a part-time position to help out on the weekends_ ___ _ ____ __ 2018-119 CATEGORY.
