The Board of Trustees determined that the three (3) trees may be trimmed at this time and that the one dead branch on the south side of the property can be removed. No permit will be required in order to trim these trees. Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this office. This is not a determination from any other agency. Box 1179 Southold,New York 11971 Dear Mr. Domino: I am the owner of some residential vacant land property in Mattituck Estates. The address is 565 Meadow Lane, Tax Map Number 473889 115.-5-6. It is property that is environmentally protected and unbuildable. My mother bought it several years ago putting my name as co-owner. However, she has since passed and I presently pay the taxes on it. I am writing to you because I was recently contacted by the property owners next to my property. Their names are Cliff and Karen Cid. Their address is 675 Meadow Lane, Mattituck,NY, 11952. The say that there are a few trees on my property that pose a threat to their property. I am aware that there are strict guidelines as to what trees, shrubs, etc. that you can trim or not trim. Therefore, I am enclosing some photos of the trees that are of some concern to Mr. and Mrs. Cid and to the safety of their house. I am forwarding them to you because I think that the Board of Trustees would have to look at the trees since they are on environmentally protected property before trimming them. I look for your guidance and approval for what to do. Since I do not live out in Mattituck, I give you authorization to speak with Mr. and Mrs. Cid about the matter since they know exactly what trees they are concerned with and can show you exactly where they are.
