Dear Mr. Ross:
Pursuant to your letter dated June 17th, please be advised as
follows:
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar
with the premises in question and the surrounding area, and
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the documentation submitted
concerning this request, and
WHEREAS, the Board made the following findings of fact:
1. By this request, appellant requests permission to construct a
covered deck as proposed on the map of property for John J. Newman
an Mattituck, N.Y. revised May 8, 1986, and
2. The property in question is known as Parcel No. 1000-144-5-30 on
the Suffolk County Tax Map or more commonly known as Sailors Needle Road,
Mattituck.
Accordingly, on motion made by Trustee Bredemeyer seconded by Trustee Goubeaud
it was
RESOLVED that Daniel C. Ross on behalf of John J. Newman be and hereby is
Granted a Waiver of the Wetland Ordinance as requested for the construction of
a covered deck on property located on Sailors Needle Road, Mattituck subject
to the following provisions: 1. That care should be taken so as to preclude
the entry of any construction material into the adjacent waters.
2. Immediately following construction, all areas of exposed soil shall be
protected with suitable erosion control devices and/or vegetated.

Dear Mr. Ne~an:
The following actions were taken by the Board of Trustees during
their regular meeting held on November 25, 1986 regarding the above
captioned property.
RESOLVED that the Southold Town Trustees Approve the request made by
John J. Newman to demolish his house on property located on Sailor's
Needle Road, Mattituck and
Be it further
RESOLVED that the Southold Town Trustees Approve the request made by
John J. Newman to construct his residence on Sailor's Needle Road,
Mattituck all in accordance with the survey by Roderick Van Tuyl, P.C.,
dated February 25, 1986 and with the provision that if there is any
significant run off into the creek the property is to be stabilized with
a double row of hay bales.
