The validity of this permit is or may be subject to the approval of other governmental or municipal
authori[ies. The Town accepts no responsibility in applying for or obtaining such approval. In the
event that such approval is necessary, the holder of this permit shall not commence operations here-
un,er until such approval has been obtained in writing. The failure to obtain such other approval when
renuired shall subject this permit to immediate revocation by the Trustees upon receipt by the
Trustees, of written notice from such other governmental or municipal authorities of its refusal or
disapproval.
The a~plicant does by the acceptance of this permit, assume all responsibility for operations under-
taken pursuant to this permit, and shall take all precautions for the prevention of injuries to persons
and property resulting from such operations. By such acceptance, the applicant also agrees to indemni-
fy and save harmless the Town, and its officers, agents and employees from any and all claims arising
from operations under this permit and any and all acts or omissions of applicant, his agent and
employees.
The applicant and the owner and occupants of the premises upon which the operations authorized by
this permit are being conducted, do, by the acceptance of this permit, give consent to the Town, and
its officers and employ,ecs to enter upon the premises where such operations are being conducted to
make such inspections as the Town may deem necessary to insure that such operations are being con-
ducted in conformity with this permit.
This operation wit[ not substantially: A. Adversely affect the wetlands of the town,
B. Cause damage from eros[on, turbidity or siltation.
C. Cause saltwater intrusion into the fresh water resources of the town.
D. Adversely affect fish, shellfish or other beneficial marine organisms, aquatic wildlife ant vege-
tation or the natural habitat thereof.
E. Increase the danger of flood and storm-tide damage.
F. Adversely affect navigation on tidal waters or the tidal flow of the tidal waters of the town.
G. Change the course of any channel or the natural movement or flow of any waters.
H. Weaken or undermine the lateral support of other lands in the vicinity.
I. Otherwise adversely affect the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the town.

Re: Wetland Application No. 408
Dear Mr. Walker:
The following action was taken by the Board of Trustees during
their regular meeting held on October 30, 1986 regarding the above
captioned matter.
~EREAS, Andrew B. Walker on behalf of the Nature Conservancy applied to the
Southold Town Trustees for a permit under
the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of gouthold,
application dated Jane 5, 1986 , and
WHEREAS said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation
Advisory Council for their findings and recommendations, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect
to said application on October 30, 1986 at which time all interested persons
were given an opportunity to be heard, and
WHEREAS, the goard members have personally viewed and are familiar
with the premises in question and the surrounding area, and
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation
submitted concerning this application, and
WHEREAS, the-Board kas determined that the project as proposed will not
affect the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the Town,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED that Andrew B. Walker on behalf of the Nature Conservancy
BE AND HEREBY IS GRANTED PERMISSION UNDER THE PROVISIONS
OF THE WETLAND ORDINAINCE OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD TO: construct a 133' x 3'
walkway with a 13' x 5' observation dock on Horton Creek. Property is located
on the east side of Peconic Bay Blvd., Mattituck. This permit will
expire on October 30, 1987 if work has not con~eneed by said date. There are two
inspections required and the Trustees are to be notified upon the
completion of the work. Prior to the issuance of said permit by the
Board of Trustees - Page 2.

Clerk, the applicant shall file with the Clerk a certificate that he
has public liability insurance policies insuring against any liability
which may arise in the performance of the operations pursuant to such
permi~ in such amount as shall be fixed by the Trustees, which said
policies shall name the Town as a name insured. Please take further
notice that this declaration should not be considered a determination
made for any other department or agency which may also have an a~pplication
pending for the same or similar project.
Please remit the required $5.00 Inspection Fee for this application.
Upon remittance your permit will be forwarded by mail.

The following-recommendations were made by the CAC at the regular
meeting held Thursday, August 21, 1986:
No. 409 - Disapprove pending a Declaration of Significant Impact.
No. 415 - Approve
No. 416 - Approve
No. 417 -~'Approve
No. 422 - Approve
No. 421 - Approve w/th the stipulation that it is elevated by the
standard 4' above wetlands
No. 427 - Declare Non - Significant Reco~muend denial of wetland

No. 418 - Approve but suggest the applicant reconsider. The project may
result in the loss of beach if bulkheaded. The current
vegetation and beach system is working very well.
No. 419 - Table pending receipt of a good quality map-site and shoreline.
No. 420 - Approve with stipulations. Must take action to prevent erosion
and runoff on east side of bulkhead; install fill and put in
ground cover to prevent rain induced runoff.
NO. 423 -' Approve with proposals. Construct cesspool away from wetlands;
put in drywells to con~ain runoff on site; no bulkhead; no
lawn; build a catwalk; leave natural vegetation; and plant
buffer around foundation.
