Located: 1625 Gull Pond Lane, Greenport. SCTM# 1000- 35-4-13 The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the action replace in-place with 106 linear feet of new vinyl bulkhead...is CONSISTENT with the below listed Policy Standards and therefore is CONSISTENT with LWRP. A Wetlands Permit (5607) was issued for the bulkhead in 2002. The construction of the install new 6' wide by 17' long fixed platform/dock off of bulkhead; a 3'x16' aluminum ramp; and a 6'x40' floating dock using un-treated decking supported by three 10" diameter CCA piles secured in a configuration parallel to the bulkhead is recommended as INCONSISTENT pursuant to: 6.3 Protect and restore tidal and freshwater wetlands. A. Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements of the Southold Town Board of Trustees laws and regulations for all Andros Patent and other lands under their jurisdiction r' 1. Comply with Trustee regulations and recommendations as set forth in Trustee permit conditions. The structure was constructed without a Board of Trustee permit In the event the actions are approved, the following erosion control is required. § 275-11. Construction and operation standards. A. General. The following standards are required for all operations within the jurisdiction of the Trustees: (2) Erosion control. Installation of an erosion control structure is necessary during any building, grading, landscaping or site work activity within Trustee jurisdiction. This structure may include, but is not limited to, installation of a silt fence, hay bales, wood chip berm and silt booms. The placement of the erosion control structure(s) shall be determined by the Trustees or their designee. All intertidal construction and excavation requires the installation of a silt boom that will retain all suspended sediments within the immediate project area. Require the installation of a silt boom in areas where practicable. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action. Raise existing height 12" above existing top cap elevation and maintain existing previously permitted non-turf buffer area as shown on plans. In addition remove existing fixed platform, ramp and floating dock and install new 6'x 17'fixed platform, 3'x 16' aluminum ramp and 6'x 40' long floating dock with un-treated decking supported by three 10" diameter CCA piles. ADDED INFORMATION FOR TRUSTEES: The purpose of the proposed-floating dock is to allow for dockage of a 36'sailboat. Due to the keel of the boat the draft is approximately 5' in depth depending on weight. During specific winds and tide changes there is lack of sufficient water depth to maintain the boat at this location. The proposed plans and revised dock location will allow for added water depth and the additional dock length will protect the boat during storms which are a common occurrence at this location.
