HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-01/09/2018 LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING Minutes & Discussion Notes from Meeting held Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. Town Hall Annex – Land Preservation Department Members Present: Sam McCullough, Chairman Anne Murray Doris McGreevy Lillian Ball Members Absent: Will Lee Eric Keil John Simicich Also present: Melissa Spiro, Land Preservation Coordinator Melanie Doroski, Land Preservation Secretary Bob Ghosio, Town Board Liaison Commencement:  The meeting began at 7:01 p.m. with four LPC members present. Committee Minutes and Adoption:  Acceptance of LPC meeting minutes from December 11, 2017 MOTION made by Anne Murray, seconded by Doris McGreevy, to adopt the 12/11/2017 LPC meeting minutes. Motion carried: 4/0 Land Preservation Applications and Inquiries:  SCTM #1000-100.-3-12 (KRUPSKI FAMILY, LLC) PDR application: Appraisal review \[Executive Session\] EXECUTIVE SESSION. The LPC members entered into LPC reviewed the appraisal. END OF EXECUTIVE SESSION HOLD for further discussion and action at next LPC meeting.  SCTM #1000-109.-1-10.1 (CARNATION PROPERTIES, INC. / McCALL FAMILY HOLDINGS) PDR application: Appraisal review \[Executive Session\] Not discussed. Appraisal was not received prior to meeting.  PROJECT STATUS UPDATE Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro provided updates on all current projects and inquiries. Inquiries for Uses or Structures on Preserved Property  TREIBER FARMS (SCTM #1000-96.-1-8 (fka Zebroski) and #1000-96.-1-9.2 (fka Doroski) Landowner, Peter Treiber, submitted a formal request for cattle fencing. LPC discussed making recommendations in the future that landowners provide a nutrient/manure management plan for raising livestock. MOTION made by Anne Murray, seconded by Sam McCullough, that agricultural fencing is consistent with the terms of the recorded easements on these properties. Motion carried: 4/0 Stewardship and Management: None General Land Preservation Items:  YEAR END STATISTICS Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro distributed draft of Land Preservation Department’s year-end report.  STATE AND FEDERAL FARMLAND GRANT STATUS Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro provided information/requirements regarding upcoming State and Federal grant opportunities for farmland preservation.  OPEN SPACE PROPERTIES FOR SALE: Recent Inquiries Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro passed along inquiries she had received from local residents regarding open space properties for sale that the Town may be interested in pursuing. Melissa will provide information to Town Board for their input.
