LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING
Minutes & Discussion Notes from Meeting held
Monday, December 11, 2017 at 3:30 p.m.

Commencement:
The meeting began at 3:35 p.m. with six LPC members present.
Committee Minutes and Adoption:
Acceptance of LPC meeting minutes from November 16, 2017
MOTION
made by Will Lee, seconded by Doris McGreevy, to adopt the 11/14/2017 LPC meeting
minutes.
Motion carried: 4/0/2 (LPC members Anne Murray and John Simicich abstained as they
were not in attendance at the 11/14/2017 LPC meeting)
Land Preservation Applications and Inquiries:
SCTM #1000-35.-2-2.1, 11, 12, 17.1 (ISLAND’S END / KING)

EXECUTIVE SESSION.
The LPC members entered into
LPC reviewed the potential preservation project and potential purchase offer that was presented to
the Town Board in executive session.
END OF EXECUTIVE SESSION
MOTION
made by Sam McCullough, seconded by Will Lee, that LPC supports the potential purchase
offer discussed by the Town Board for the proposed preservation project pertaining to Island’s End /
King properties.
Motion carried: 6/0
PROJECT STATUS UPDATE
Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro provided updates on all current projects and inquiries.

LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE CHAIR
2018 Chair Recommendation
As per a Committee Chair Succession Policy presented and approved by members of the Land
Preservation Committee at a meeting held on November 14, 2017, the Committee recommends that
the Town Board designate Sam McCullough as Chairperson and Anne Murray as Deputy
Chairperson of the Land Preservation Committee for the 2018 calendar year.
MOTION
made by Anne Murray, seconded by Will Lee, to make a recommendation to the Town
Board that Sam McCullough and Anne Murray be designated Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson,
respectively, of the Land Preservation Committee for the year 2018.
Motion carried: 5/0 (LPC member Lillian Ball not present at time of vote)
Memo to include this recommendation is to be sent to LPC Liaison Bob Ghosio for discussion with the
Town Board members.
2018 LPC MEETING SCHEDULE
Tentative 2018 LPC meeting schedule handed out. Melanie to send e-mail to members requesting
possible scheduling conflicts.
