Because of the additional requests for building permits and the overlapping Codes, the details get to be complicated. If what is contained in this memo is not consistent with what you require or understand please let me know. 1. The existing building permit for construction of the new dwelling was issued prior to the 2007 code and my client will comply with the original permit and all codes applicable to the codes in effect at the time of issuance of the permit. a. The crawl space floor will beat elevation 8.0' msl b. The boiler will be placed in the front part of the crawl space in accordance with pre 2007 codes. (5/8"fire code for boiler area only) 2. My client will obtain the Certificate of occupancy before any work is started on any new permit work. 3. Because of the requirement to obtain ZBA approval for rear 1 st and 2nd floor decks my client will comply with securing the sliding doors and installing exterior railings as per my letter of June 12th 2008. 4. While that 6/12/2008 letter mentions an amendment to the existing permit we will be seeking two new permits; one permit for the crawl space conversion to a garage and one additional permit for the rear decks and front porch. 5. The plans submitted has the garage with 5/8" fire code sheetrockfor all walls and ceiling. The crawl space will not have fire code sheetrock except for the existing area around the boiler. d. The existing plans submitted forthe garage conversion contain all of the above and should be used for that permit 6.
