As state coordinating agency for the NFIP we are particularly concerned that the town maintains its participation in the program. In accordance with Letter of Map Revision (LOMR), FEMA Case Number 17-02-1400P, the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for map panel number 36103CO019H has been revised. Because this is a physical change to the municipality's Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), it is necessary for the Town to formally adopt this LOMR before it can issue permits based) on the information on the LOMR. Currently„ we have Local Law # 11 of 2009 as the local law for floodplain protection. We recommend that the Town amend its existing section 148 of your codes to include the enclosed LOMR information in Section 148-6. A copy of the required language is attached. The LOMR becomes effective on February 16, 2018. Please make the amendment to the local law as soon as possible in order for the town to be able to use the LOMR for regulating the floodplain.
