Upon receipt of an application for a Pre-Existing Certificate
of Occupancy I made an inspection of the buildings on the above
captioned premises. I was aSmitted to dwelling byMrs. Hansen
and began this inspection at approximately 9:25 A.M.
The dwelling is a one story wood frame structure constructed
on a cement block foundation. Ground floor contains a living room
that opens to dining room and off the dining room is a kitchen,
kitchen has a side entry that opens to a raised wooden deck. There
are two bedrooms and a full bathroom within the dwelling unit. Heat
is furnished to all rooms from ~ forced warm air furnace located in
a lean-to structure on the side of the building that contains a
raised deck. Hotwater is furnished to all plumbing fixtures within
the dwelling from a gas fired hotwater heater. This unit is located
in the kitchen.
The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52, Code
of the Town of Southold, N.Y. were found:
Gas cooking range and gas fired hotwater heater- no shut off
valve at unit. Article 5, Section 52-52 B-2.
Structural-protection interior - Floor under the hotwater heater
is wet. This is caused by a leak in the hotwater unit. Article 5
Section 52-51A -2.
Structural-exterior - decking, raised deck, has loose planks and
a section of plank in close proximity to the entry to the kitchen
is rotted and deteriorated. Steps from ground level leading to
deck are uneven,the treads are uneven and the steps are deformed.
Article III, Section 52-30 A & B & Article II, Section 52-27 A.
Metal accessory storage building - is located in the front yard
area. Violation of the Zoning Ordinance, we have no record of
a building permit for the structure or a variance being granted
for location of the front area. Sections under the Zoning
Ordinance Article III, Section 100-32 & Article XIV, Sec$ion
100-141.

Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in triplicate to the Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of oil buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal--(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
$. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey o~ property showing oil property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural
or topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in-
formation required to prepare a certificate.
