Upon request of the Southold Town Building Department I made inspection of this one and a half story cement block and stucca building and found the following violations of Chapter 52, Housing Code, Town of Southold. I picked up key from the Mil -Matt Real Estate office in Mattituck, and began inspection at approximately 10:30 A.M. The first floor consists of bedroom, living room, kitchen, full bath, and utility room. The second floor has two rooms; appears to have been used as sleeping quarters. Building is on slab and is unheated. First Floor Violations: Enclosed front porch - no switch or means of controlling light on entry. Sec.52-56 B-2. Kitchen: Gas Cooking Range - No shut-off switch at unit. Sec. 52-37_B_- . Utility Room: Gas and Hot Water Heater - No pressure relief valve. Sec. 52-53 I-1. Smoke stack runs through wall; elbow on exterior terminates with discharge directed downward. Sec. 52-53 A-2. Second Floor Violations: Access to second floor by means of folding attic stairs. Sec. 52-27 A -B. No light or means of controlling light for safe ascent or descent of stair. Sec. 52-26 B-3. Headroom - six feet eleven inches (6'11") - violation of Building and Zoning Ordinance - Chapter 100, Article I, Sec. 100-13. Floor area liveable. Building unheated, occupancy from May 1st to October 31st. Sec. 52-53 A-1. Housing Code Inspection -2- November 30, 1973 541 Sigsbee Rd. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in DUPLICATE to the Building Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use: 1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusual natural or topographic features. 2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal—(S-9 form or equal). 3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters. 4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for the building. 5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable. B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non -conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing" land uses: 1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural or topographic features. 2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings. 3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in- formation required to prepare a certificate. C. Fees: 1. Certificate of occupancy $5.00 2.
