'T Edd. HEAD AND NEW PPLI AT'I S EES REPORT for: September 2017 DATE: October 5, 2017 1. Requires Immediate Attention: Nothing at this time 11. Board and Office Policies, Practices, and Activities: 2017 Annual Z13A Training On September 21, 2017, T.A Duffy provided the Board Members with anhour's training in the relationship between IT'S Agriculture and Markets law and the local zoning code. TA Luffy handed out three written references which the Beard members will read as the basis for further discussion. 111. Financial/Budget/Personnel Issues: 2018 ZBA Budget On September 27, 2017,per the request of the Supervisor, I submitted an analysis of the proposed ZBA budget for 2018. that attempted to reduce costs by 10%. and/or increase fees that generate additional revenues by 1.0%. No further reductions could be made since all proposed coasts are actual expenses. A comparative analysis of ZBA fees charged by other local in,unicipalities indicated that Southold is on par with or higher than others. However, I have proposed that fees for as `built structures"be doubled, as they are in the "Down's Building and Trustees Departments and in several Cather local municipalities. I will discuss the potential additional revenues that this could generate at my scheduled budget review with the Town Board on Oct. 12, 2017 IV.
