Bredemeyer, III President, Board of Trustees JMB: 3md OLIVER COPE .ARCHITECT February 8, 1993 Ms; Jill Thorp Southold Town Trustees Town Hall Southold, NY 11971 Re: Porch additions, John McGillian House, Block 35 Lot 2, Fishers Island Dear Ms. Thorp, Having just received a pencil sketch from Dick Strouse of Chandler, Palmer and King showing the approximate location of the Coastal Erosion Hazard Line for the above referenced property, I spoke with Glen Just today about obtaining approvals for the construction of a porch addition to John McGillian's house on Fishers Island. Glen said that the Trustees have a trip scheduled to Fishers Island this coming Saturday and that if we act quickly we might get them to do a pre-application review of the site. I hope that this is possible. I have enclosed a sketch which I prepared based on the information from CPK. The location of the hazard line is approximate, bat it appears to indicate that the porch would violate the setback from the Coastal Erosion Hazard Line by between 7 and 12 feet. We propose to add a porch along the east (water) side of the house extending it 14'-4" beyond the existing exterior wall of the house. The porch would be one stOry high, With a bluestone floor and shingle roof. I am Federal Expressing this letter with 8 copies of the drawing.
