HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-08/08/2017 LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING Minutes & Discussion Notes from Meeting held Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Town Hall Annex Executive Board Room Members Present: Sam McCullough, Chairman Anne Murray Doris McGreevy John Simicich Will Lee Lillian Ball Eric Keil Members Absent: none Also present: Melissa Spiro, Land Preservation Coordinator Melanie Doroski, Land Preservation Secretary Holly Sanford, Peconic Land Trust Project Manager Commencement:  The meeting began at 7:05 p.m. with six LPC members present. Committee Minutes and Adoption:  Acceptance of LPC meeting minutes from July 11, 2017 MOTION made by Anne Murray, seconded by Will Lee, to adopt the 7/11/2017 LPC meeting minutes. Motion carried: 6/0 (LPC member Eric Keil not present at time of vote) Land Preservation Applications and Inquiries:  SCTM #1000-45.-6-9.1, 9.2 & 9.3 (MEADOWS AT GREENPORT and MEADOWOOD MANAGEMENT CO) Open Space application: Update regarding application status Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro gave update on her meeting with the Town Board on this LPC application. Town Board did not refer project to LPC to pursue.  SCTM #1000-120.-3-2, 120.-3-11.8 and 120.-3-11-10 (MDH LLC / DiVELLO) PDR application: Update regarding application status Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro presented application and background information from previous application. As per Town Board’s request that all inquiries/new applications be presented to the Town Board during executive session, LPC reserved making a recommendation until such time that Town Board refers to LPC to pursue.  SCTM #1000-14.-2-29.2, 29.3 & 29.4 and #1000-19.-2-2, 3 & 12.2 (ORIENT EAST LLC, ORIENT WEST LLC, ORIENTS POINT LLC / aka Pappas/Vasilas) PDR application: Update regarding application status Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro gave background information on previous application and landowners’ new application. As per Town Board’s request that all inquiries/new applications be presented to the Town Board during executive session, LPC reserved making a recommendation until such time that Town Board refers to LPC to pursue.  PROJECT STATUS UPDATES Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro presented confidential project status updates on several on-going LPC projects. Inquiries for Uses or Structures on Preserved Property None Stewardship and Management: None General Land Preservation Items:  STATE FARMLAND PROTECTION IMPLEMENTATION GRANT (FPIG) Status and timeframes Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro noted that NYS Ag & Markets recently announced a request for submission of sit plans for Conservation Easement Projects intended to be submitted as proposals for the statewide round of Farmland Protection Implementation Grants which is intended to be announced in May 2018. Webinar to review all submitted site plans will be in mid-November 2017.  2018 BUDGET: LAND PRESERVATION DEPARTMENT and COMMUNITY PRESERVATION FUND Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro explained the 2018 Land Preservation Department and Community Preservation Fund budgets that she recently submitted for Town’s preliminary review. Next Regular Meeting:  Tuesday, September 5, 2017 The next regular meeting will be held on . There will be no meeting held on August 22, 2017 as regularly scheduled.
