Family LLC,450 Sound Beach Drive,Mattituck Dear Mr. Domino: I am in receipt of your letter dated June 20, 2017, in which you relay that upon his inspection on June 19, 2017, Trustee Glenn Goldsmith"found the cottage to be within 100 feet of the primary dune and accordingly is within trustee jurisdiction." Since both the existing and proposed dwellings are clearly located landward of the Coastal Erosion Hazard Area boundary, I assume the jurisdiction referenced in your letter relates to Chapter 275, Wetlands. However, based on the Chapter 275 definition of a"dune," i.e., "a ridge or hill of loose, windblown or artificially placed earth, the principal component of which is sand," I did not upon my inspection of the property in September 2016 identify what I would consider a dune pursuant to this definition. Therefore, I am requesting that the Board meet me at the property during field inspections on July 11th for the purpose of identifying specifically where a dune may exist, as such a feature, if present, would need to be delineated and added to the survey for the purpose of identifying the limit of the Trustees' Chapter 275 jurisdiction. I also plan to have the seaward corners of the proposed structures that were approved by the ZBA lathed out by that date. Respe !lly yours, r Robert .
