NY SCTM # 1000-122-07-06.60 Gentlemen: The Long Island Lighting Company is planning the installation of a Gas Compressor Station on the south side of Main Road in Mattituck. The Company is Contract Vendee for the required property. The station will be unmanned and will not have any water or sanitary facilities. The planned compressor station has the sole purpose of maintaining the operating pressure in the gas distribution system on the north fork east of Mattituck. It will consist of two (2) units. The pnmary compressor will be electrically driven and the secondary compressor (backup) will be driven by natural gas. It is expected that the station would operate only in cold weather and then only in the morning and evening hours during times of high gas consumption. Both compressors are housed in sound insulated compartments. Applications have already been submitted to the Town's Planning, Zoning Board of Appeals and Building Departments for their various determinations. Since LILCO had applied for and obtained a NY State DEC permit for this project (copy attached), it was recommended that this application be filed for a Board of Town Trustees determination. The project, located on the south side of Main Road, is in the vicinity of Freshwater Wetlands MT-18. Please note, The NYSDEC Freshwater Wetlands map also depicts a small wetland, identified as MT-17. present on the south side of the road in the exact location of the proposed project area. It is evident, however, that this wetland was filled sometime in the past and no longer exists, (See attached Wetlands map). Attached are the following for your review and processing: a) An original and -two (2) copies of a Wetlands Application. b) Copy of Contract for Purchase of Property. c) DEC Freshwater Wetlands Map. d) DEC Permit #1-4738-01385/00001. e) Three (3) copies of Plot Plan drawing #1-MTGC-FY-02001-00 (Revised). f) Three (3) copies of Aerial Survey. The property has been surveyed and staked. Property lines (corners) and base lines are marked with orange stakes and flags. The foUr (4) corners of the proposed fence are marked by green stakes.
