Board of Trustees Npplice' irn WETLAND/TRUSTEE LANDS APPLICATION DATA Purpose of the proposed operations: To restore and maintain the navigability and use of an existing, permitted boat basin that has been previously maintenance dredged pursuant to Board of Southold Town Trustees Permit 4954,issued on August 31, 1998. Area of wetlands on lot: N/A square feet Percent coverage of lot: N/A °% Closest distance between nearest existing structure and upland edge of wetlands: N/A feet Closest distance between nearest proposed structure and upland edge of wetlands: N/A feet Does the project involve excavation or filling? No X Yes If yes, how much material will be excavated? +/-60 cubic yards sand/silt dredged from existing boat basin How much material will be filled? +/-60 cubic yards spoil deposited and retained on-site Depth of which material will be removed er-depestted: -4 feet(MLLW) Proposed slope throughout the area of operations: N/A Manner in which material will be removed or deposited: Approximately 60 cubic yards of sand/silt spoil will be dredged(to a maximum depth of-4'MLLW)from an existing+/-33'x 34'boat basin via land-based excavator and/or barge-mounted clamshell bucket crane. The spoil will be deposited and retained on the subject property and allowed to dewater in an approximately 1,600 sf designated spoil disposal area bounded by haybales and wire-backed silt-retention fencing Statement of the effect, if any, on the wetlands and tidal waters of the town that may result by reason of such proposed operations (use attachments if appropriate): The project consists of the maintenance dredging of a permitted boat basin that has been previously maintenance dredged pursuant to Board of Southold Town Trustees Permit 4954,which was issued to Patrick Lohn in August 1998;later amended in 1999 and 2002;and transferred to the current owners in 2014. To contain ephemeral turbidity within the boundaries of the existing boat basin,a silt curtain can be deployed along the seaward limit of the boat basin during the proposed maintenance dredging activities. The resultant spoil will be retained on the subject property and allowed to dewater in a designated spoil disposal area bounded by haybales and wire-backed silt-retention fencing. By maintaining the navigability and use of the existing boat basin and dockage facility, the project encourages the use of and provides the applicants and their guests with access to the adjacent navigable waters of Corey Creek. The project in no way impedes public access to or recreational use of coastal waters of public lands and in fact limits private encroachment on public lands by maintaining the existing boat basin and dockage facility within the boundaries of privately owned land. Therefore, the project will have no adverse impacts on the adjacent wetlands or tidal waters of the Town. 617.20 Appendix B Short Environmental Assessment Form Instructions for Completing Part I-Project Information. The applicant or project sponsor is responsible for the completion of Part 1.Responses become part of the application for approval or funding, are subject to public review, and may be subject to further verification.
