HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/2017 TOWN OF SOUTHOLD RECREATION DEPARTMENT Monthly Report: March 2017 SPRING 2017 RECREATION BROCHURE: was an insert in the Thursday, March 2 edition of The Suffolk. Prior to registration day, the BAS system was updated by the company, which inadvertently caused the on-line registration portal to crash. Residents were unable to register on their own. This had a significant negative impact on not only registration day, but several weeks afterwards as the Department had to correct many registration errors that resulted when participants did try to register on their own and were unable to. We are working with the BAS system to resolve some of the issues that are still outstanding. SUMMER 2017 BROCHURE: Work is continuing on preparing the summer programs and activities. The summer brochure will be an insert in the Thursday, May 11 edition of The Suffolk Times. Registration will be open the same day. Recreation Department programs and outside groups that use the facility have been informed. 2017 BATHING BEACH OPERATING PERMIT RENEWAL APPLICATIONS: The Suffolk County Department of Health Services’ applications to renew our bathing beach permits have not yet been received. Participants in both these courses were informed of th possible employment opportunities that may be available with the Town.
