The work would involve dredging approximately 300 cubic yards of material from the entrance channel of South Lagoon to a depth of 6 feet below mean low water with disposal of all dredged material on the beach to the north of the lagoon, above the line of mean high water° The applicant estimates that maintenance dredging may be required once a year to remove approximately 200 cubic yards of material, which would also be placed on the northern side of the inlet on the beach above mean high water. Also proposed is to remove, by clam shell crane, approximately 2000 cubic yards of material from the beach on the south side of the inlet above the mean high water line and deposit it at the aforementioned dredged material disposal site, on the north side beach above mean high water. The stated purpose of the proposal is to provide water depths adequate for safe navigation and to transfer littoral sand deposits to a downdrift site. Town Of Southold Town Clerk's Office Southold.
