Public Hearing
Prudence Wickham and Dan Heston, Salt Air Farm LLC, 1535/1555 New Suffolk
Road, Cutchogue
(SCTM# 1000-109.-7-10.5) – proposed relocation of a registered
landmark structure (barn).
The public hearing was opened by Chairman Garretson at 3:17 PM.
o
Commissioners asked the applicants how they would be moving the structure. The
o
applicants noted that they would be dismantling the barn, piece by piece, and
moving it that way.
In addition to moving the barn, the applicants noted that they would be
o
demolishing a portion of the barn that was built later.
Commissioners asked about the location of the barn and whether or not it would
o
be aligned with the other buildings on the property. Mr. Heston explained that the
original survey submitted was incorrect and that the barn would in fact be aligned
with the existing buildings on the property.
The applicants agreed to hand draw the location of the barn on the survey and
o
sign it prior to the issuance of the Certificate of Appropriateness.
Commissioners asked why the barn was being moved. The applicants explained
o
that the barn was “jammed into the corner”, making it very difficult to use.
