August 8, 1993 Board of Town Trustees Town of Southoid Town Hall, 53095 Main Road PO Box 1179 Southold, New York 11971 Dear Members of the Board, As per my conversations with Mr. John M. Bredemeyer,III on Friday 7-30-93 and Mr. Albert J. Krupski, Jr. on Saturday 8-7-93, the decision to decline our Grandfather Application dated 7-27- 93,to rebuild a dock and terraced wall, has been reversed pending the modifications and additional drawings as specified by Mr. Krupski. The following is submitted: 1. The scale on the survey provided is: 50' = 1". Therefore, the original dock was approxiametly 63 feet long by 4 feet wide. The new structure wilt not exceed a total over ail length of 60'. Enclosed please find a photograph which shows the original stairs which are also to be rebuilt, and the last remaining part of the original dock. The photo shows 4 out of 5 boards remaining of the original dock "catwalk". The boards are 2"x8" with 1' gaps between each, which indicates a total width of 5 boards at 8 inches wide plus 4 one inch gaps of 44 inches and the original posts centered at four feet. 2. It is also requested that the Grandfather application be ammended to allow for a floating type dock, as per Mr. Krupski's suggestion. 3. That the original dimensions on the floating portion of the dock be changed from 10 feet x 12 feet to 8 feet by 12 feet. 4. Enclosed please find a drawing of the steps to be replaced exactly as the original: a 2" x 8" sideboard with 12" steps, 6" rise, 13' long at 30 degrees. 5. As for the requested walt, we will take the advice of the Town Board of Trustees and erect a landscaped type wall instead of the more costly and, as pointed out, unnecessary retaining wa!l. Please see enclosed drawing. It would be appreciated tha~ if a certian portion of ~he requested projects are declined, that t~e portions that are approved be specified. Thank you ali for your time and attention in this matter. Respectfully submitted, 16802.. !, T©WB OF SOuT John R. & Gwendolen D. A.
