Re: 401 Atlantic Avenue Greenport—BP#405086
Dear Mr. Verity:
I reviewed the plans for the addition to the 401 Atlantic Avenue building and visited and inspected
the new foundation and framing for the addition and the new deck. Inspection of the foundation
found it to be constructed with concrete masonry units as opposed to poured concrete as shown
on the plans. Inspection of the foundation found it to be well constructed and capable of
structurally supporting the building addition. Inspection of the framing found it to be framed in r
accordance with the plans. The roof is constructed with 4 collar ties.The plans show 4 collar ties
and a note on the plans specifies 5 collar ties. It is my professional opinion that 4 collar ties are
structurally adequate. Inspection of the deck found it to be installed in accordance with the plans
and the ledger boards were found to be bolted to the building wall every 16 inches and staggered.

f.Every building permit shall expire if the work authorized has not commenced within 12 months after the date of

addition six months. Thereafter,a new permit shall be required.
