Dear Sir, TOWN OF SOiTI HOLD I certify-to the best of my knowledge that-the insulation installed at-the above referenced dwelling was installed in accordance with New York State Building Codes at the time of the permit. I am submitting as constructed building plans for the basement. Showing footings and metal columns. I certify that these columns and footings have been installed in accordance with New York State Building Codes. Some background: During the original construction of the ranch structure,the framing contractor moved the main girder in the basement 1 foot to the rear of the structure.This was to get the last column out of the center of the stairway.This offset the column from the support wall above. This was not a problem with just a ranch house because the wall was a distributed load and supported by the floor joists. When the new architect designed the 2nd floor he did not allow for the offset girder in the basement in his plans and drew the basement with the point loads from above supported by the girder and new columns in alignment with the other columns. The new framing contractor for the new 2nd floor now saw that the point loads from the 2nd floor did not come down onto the girder. He moved the columns in the proper position and blocked the point loads. We found one column missing and the areas over the stairway was not supported.Those areas were corrected.
