Box 1179 a„t,f ;;: s Southold,NY 11971 Re: Richard and Janet Downing,995 Willis Creek Drive,Mattituck Dear Mr. Bredemeyer: As I discussed with Elizabeth last week, subsequent to the Board's resolving to approve the captioned application for a swimming pool, I noticed a clerical mistake on the proposed pool label on the site plan that indicates the proposed depth of the pool as "3.5' deep.” The label, however, should have read"3.5—6' deep." Therefore, I am enclosing herewith three (3) copies of a site plan prepared by Nathan Taft Corwin III Land Surveyor, last dated November 22, 2016, which have been revised to include the corrected label. As the top of the raised pool and deck will'be close to EL 13.5'MSL, there will be very little excavation of the naturally existing grade regardless and therefore no interference with the groundwater table or need for dewatering,as represented in our application. Thus, please let me know if it is necessary for us to submit an application to amend the permit or if given the nature of the correction you can simply substitute the corrected plans for those submitted with the application. If you have any questions or require any additional information, please let me know. Statement of the effect, if any, on the wetlands and tidal waters of the town that may result by reason of such proposed operations (use attachments if appropriate): The project consists of the construction of a raised swimming pool surrounded by a new attached raised deck in place of a smaller raised deck to be removed, which will result in an increase to Town-defined lot coverage by 1,877 sf,thus maintaining coverage of buildable land at approximately 18 percent. The raised and shallow pool will not interfere with the groundwater table, and both the swimming pool and associated deck will be set back more than 50 feet from tidal wetlands associated with Willis Creek,as required by Section 275-3(D)(1)(a)(5)of the Wetlands Law of the Town of Southold. Only a 4'wide by roughly 24'long section of the proposed deck, which is designed to serve as a walkway connecting the pool deck to the existing deck and dwelling entrance on the west side of the house, will be situated less than 75'from wetlands. A temporary project limiting silt fence will be set in place between the work site and Willis Creek to control and contain site disturbance and potential runoff during construction;and a pool drywell will be permanently installed upon completion of construction to capture pool backwash. Therefore, the project will not result in the physical loss, degradation,or functional loss of ecological components or otherwise adversely impact the adjacent tidal wetlands or waters of the Town. ao Town of Southold Erosion, Sedimentation & Storm-Water Run-off ASSESSMENT FORM PROPERTY LOCATION: S.CT.M#: THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS MAY REQUIRE THE SUBMISSION OF A 0 1000 123 10 STORM-WATER,GRADING,DRAINAGE AMP EROSION CONTROL PLAN D-15TFRT Section Block Lot CERTIFIED BY A DESIGN PROFESSIONAL IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK SCOPE OF WORK- PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION ITEM#/WORK ASSESSMENT Yes No a.What is the Total Area of the Project Parcels? 1 Will this Project Retain All Storm-Water Run-Off (include Total Area of all Parcels located within 40(S.F./Acres))553 sf Generated by a Two(2")Inch Rainfall on Site? \ / ❑ the Scope of work for Proposed Construction) (This item will include all run-off created by site LXX b,What is the Total Area of Land Clearing clearing and/or construction activities as well as all and/or Ground Disturbance for the proposed <21,460 sf Site improvements and the permanent creation of construction activity (S.F./Acres) impervious surfaces.) 2 Does the Site Plan and/or Survey Show All Proposed XF PROVIDE BRIEF PROJECT DESCRIPTION(Provide Additional Pages as Needed)) Drainage structures Indicating Size&Location? This item shall include all proposed Grade Changes and Remove existing 503 sf attached raised waterside deck and Slopes Controlling Surface Water Flow, construct in its place a 1,868 sf attached raised deck addition 3 Does the Site Plan and/or Survey describe the erosion El(with steps)around proposed 16'x 32'raised swimming pool; and sediment control practices that will be used to remove approximately 100 sf portion of existing stone driveway; control site erosion and storm water discharger. This and install pool enclosure fencing, pool equipment, pool cl ell, Item must be maintained throughout the Entire and generator, all as depicted on the site plan prepared by Construction Period.
