HomeMy WebLinkAbout1923 j L> i The People of the State of New York Receiver of the Town said County, Greeting to collect on or be fore the ist day of May, i ` from the several persons named in the assessment �na>< ttxe �'ie��b�� �Requixr� ttnd C�nutmttn�ed 3 9.= roll to which this warrant is annexed and on the property named and described therein, the several sums extended and mentioned herein as taxes against the respective names and property, together with fees and penalties when due, except taxes upon the shares of stocks of banks and banking associations; and you are further commanded to pay over from time to time all moneys so collected, as follows: t. Within fifteen days after the delivery of this warrant, to the Supervisor of the Town, in trust for the school districts therein, one-half of the amount of the tax levied for the purposes of the school districts of the Town, or such part thereof as shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half of the total amount collected by said date. 2. Within thirty days after such delivery, to the Supervisor of the Town, in trust for the school districts therein, the balance of the amount of the tax levied for the purposes of said school districts, or such part thereof as shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half of the total amount collected by said date. 3. Within the said first period of fifteen days and thereafter within the said second period of fifteen days, the remainder of the moneys then collected, to the Supervisor of the Town on account of the moneys levied therein for the support of highways and bridges, moneys levied therein for the benefit of special tax dis- tricts, moneys to be expended by overseers of the poor for the support of the poor, and moneys to defray any other town expenses or charges. 4. After thirty days from the date of the delivery of the warrant and at the expiration of each period of ten days thereafter, on account of the foregoing, to the Supervisor of the Town, in proportion to the balances remaining unpaid, all moneys so collected until such balances are paid in full: for all of which payments you are to require duplicate receipts and forward same to the County Treasurer. 5. After the payment of such balances in full, to the County Treasurer, all the residue of the moneys so collected, and such payments shall be made at intervals of ten days from the completion of the payments above provided. You are further commanded to pay to the Supervisor of the Town herein mentioned upon the completion of the payments as herein directed such sum or sums as may have been collected for fees and penalties on taxes. I If any person shall neglect or refuse to pay any tax imposed on him you are hereby commanded to levy the same by distress and sale upon any personal property in said County belonging to or in possession of such person, and cause the same to be sold at public auction for the payment of such tax, and the fees and penalties herein- after imposed and expenses of collection, and no claim of property to be made by any other person thereto shall be available to prevent such sale. You are further required, after the receipt of this warrant, to cause notices of the reception of this tax roll and warrant to be given as required by law:and that the taxes therein may be paid to the Receiver at the times and with penalties as provided by law, and you are further required to cause notices of the dates and places other than your principal office when and where you will attend for the receig of taxes, to be given as required by law. All taxes upon personal property and all taxes upon real property shall be Rile and payable on the date affixed to this warrant and shall be payable to the Receiver without penalty at any time prior to the succeeding loth day of January, Igti�v., and thereafter until the return of this warrant and tax roll to the County Treas- urer with the addition of a penalty of five'per cent. of the amount of such tax. You shall maker return to the County Treasurer of all unpaid taxes on the tax roll annexed to this warrant which you shall not have been able to collect, on the first day of June, jq�s., as provided by law.
