However, as a prudent precaution, the Builder agreed to supplement the upper flange with a 2 x 3 extending a minumum of 24 inches in each direction from the drilled hole and to secure it in place with a combination of structural adhesive and appropriate screws at 5"o.c. max. This letter shall certify that for all the floor framing, the composite joists and solid-sawn dimensional douglas fir joists exceed the minimum specification required by the New York State Construction Code for the Loads required for the existing spans. Furthermore, my examination of all the other framing members, their size and selection, their connections and fasteners, found all to meet and exceed the all the applicable minimum requirements of the New York State Construction Code to the best of my knowledge and belief, and I therefore certify this to be the case by affixing my signature and NYS Architectural License Number below.
