Dear Mr. and Mrs. Coritsidis:
In response to your letter dated September 20, 2016, the Board of Trustees reviewed
your request to remove two (2)trees at the above mentioned property.
The Board of Trustees determined that the one dead tree and the one dying tree on the
NE corner of your home as described in your letter may be removed at this time. No
permit will be required in order to remove these trees.
Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this office.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

Dear Southold Board of Trustees,

We are the owners of 1800 Cedar Beach Road, Southold, NY 11971 Tax map
numbers (089.00-02.00-005.001 &003.000.). We are requesting permission to
remove one dead tree and one dying tree on the NE corner of our home. We had a
certified arborist evaluate the dying oak tree to see if we could treat it and to
preserve the tree, but it was concluded that it is infested with carpenter worms and
bark beetles and that is should be removed along with the already dead oak tree.
Both of them pose a threat to our roof in the event that they should fall. It was
discussed with Southold Board members Michael Domino and John Bredemeyer
when they visited the property for a different matter in the spring of 2015.
Enclosed is a photograph of the two trees for your review.
Please advise us of your decision.
