P.O. Box 1179 TOWN OF SOUMOLD Southold, New York 11971 Dear Mr. Verity: I visited the Pisciotta residence located at 2295 Cedar Drive in East Marion on July 20, 2016. The purpose or the visit was to inspect the solar water heating system and the boiler and air conditioning systems. The following is a report of the findings of that inspection. The Pisciotta residence is a single story building with a hip style roof. The front of the building faces northwest. The building is equipped with a roof mounted solar water heating system consisting of two Energy Kinetics panels. The panels are installed on the small southwestern facing roof surface with Kindorph mounting channels that are bolted to the roof framing with W steel lag bolts;4 per panel. Inspection also found the panels to be parallel to and very tight to the roof surface. Based on my observations and a structural analysis the panel mounting arrangement to the roof framing and the panels' low exposure it is my professional opinion that the panels are capable of resisting 120 mile per hour wind loads. Based on the manufacturer's specifications each of the panels weigh 110 pounds for a total weight of 220 pounds and a total roof coverage of 66 square feet. Based on this information the load on the roof from the panels is 3.33 pounds per square foot which is much less than the building code prescribed snow load design value of 30 pounds per square foot that was specified when the building was constructed. The building has an Energy Kinetics Model EK1 oil fired boiler. Inspection found the boiler to be neatly installed and in accordance with code requirements such as gypsum board on the floor framing above the flue, etc. The building is equipped with an air conditioning system. The York compressor condenser unit is installed along the northern side of the building and the air handler is installed in the attic. The system was found to be installed properly and in accordance with code. If you have any questions, please call me at 298-1986. Yours truly, on, P. ,1 talk 1.
