l`oday, I met with Jan Kirwan at�the p�operty to review two outstanding items noted by the"
building inspector for the final inspection and subsequent certificate of occupancy.
The area I inspected is a 620SF garage/porch renovation into living space with covered porch.
The addition is a single story and the foundations for the former garage remained. The west
, side of the addition connects to the existing main house which has a full basement. .
The building department is concerned with the wind load fastening of the framing and the fire
caulking of penetrations. After reviewing the building permit plans, I conducted the site visit.
The wind load fastening system for the addition and the fire caulking at penetrations meet the
requirements of the building code of the State of New York.

a. This application MUST be completely filled in by typewriter or in ink and submrtted to the Buildmg Inspector with 4
sets of plans, accurate plot plan to scale. Fee accordmg to schedule.
b. Plot plan showing location of lot and of buildings on premises,relationship to adj oining premises or public streets or
areas, and waterways.
c. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application,the Building Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such a permit
shall be kept on the premises available for inspection throughout the work.
e.No building shall be occupied or used in whole ar in part for any purpose what so ever until the Building Inspector
issues a Certificate of Occupancy.
f. Every building permit shall expire if the work authorized has not commenced within 12 months after the date of
issuance or has not been completed within 18 months from such date. If no zoning amendments or other regulations affecting the
property have been enacted in the interim, the Building Inspector may authorize, in writing,the extension of the permit for an
addition six months. Thereafter, a new permit shall be required.
