Upon receipt of an application for a Pre -Existing Certificate
of Occupancy I made an inspection of the buildings on this premises.
I was admitted to dwelling by Mr. William Keil who accompanied me
during this inspection that began at approximately 10:05 A.M.
The dwelling is a one story wood framed structure constructed on
a cement block foundation and contains two bedrooms, a full bathroom
and a room used for living room, dining room and kitchen facilities.
Heat is furnished to building from a gas fired warm air floor
furnace located in living room floor approximately centrally located
in building. A gas fired hotwater heater furnishing domestic hotwater
is located in full cellar. Domestic water is furnished to building
from a private well located in cellar. Sewage drainage system for
building is connected to a private disposal system. A wood framed
one and one half car garage with attached carport is located in the
rear yard area.
The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52, Code
of the Town of Southold, N.Y. were found:
Entry -to living room, no means of controlling light in room
at point of entry. Article V, Section 52-56 B.2.
Sewage System -no house trap. Article V. Section 52-51 C.1,
Accessory structure -doorway on south side of building, door
rotting at door sill. Article III, Section 52-31 B.

APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in DUPLICATE to the Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept, of water supply and sewerage disposal—(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where noolicahle.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non -conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural
or topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in-
formation required to prepare a certificate.
C. Fees:
1. Certificate of occupancy $5.00
2. Certificate of occupancy on pre-existing dwelling or land use $5.00
3. Copy of certificate of occupancy $1.00

I am attorney for JAMES W. LOVE & ANN D. LOVE owners of premises
940 Marlene Lane, Mattituck, shown upon the annexed survey of
Van Tuyl dated 12/19/66
The Love's purchased the property Jan 9 1967 from ANGELO & JOHANNA
ORIO who had obtained a variance upon appeal 613 dated Oct 24 1963
for division of the property. In connection with that application
the propertyappeared upon a survey dated A -g 28 1962 to have been
improved as it now stands.
The Orio's acquired the property by deed Liber 5240 p 426 from
WALTER A & ETHELVEDA COYMAN, who upon information an belief had
obtained permit to improve the property prior to the effective
date of the requirement for issuance of a certificate of occupancy.
The property has at all times been used for a single family dwellii
and garage, as permitted by the zoning ordinance.
