Upon request of John Nickles, Main Road, Southold, N. Y. I made an inspection of dwelling at this location. I admitted myself to building with keys provided by Florence LaFreniere and began this inspection at approximately 11:00 A. M. The building is a one story wood framed structure built on a cement block foundation and contains two bedrooms, a living room with fireplace, kitchen, bathroom and an enclosed porch on rear of building. Second floor has two sleeping balconies that open to the cathedral ceiling of living of first floor. Heat is furnished to building from an oil fired warm air furnace located in full cellar of foundation. There is one heat outlet cut into living room floor approximately centered in the building. The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52, code of the Town of Southold, N. Y. were found. Entries: to living room and porch, no means of con- trolling light in rooms at point of entries. Art V. Section 52-56 B 2. Gas cooking range: no shut off valve at unit, Art V Section 52-52 B 2. Bathroom: floor covering not tight to tub and walls and there is a section of floor tile missing under sink. ArtIII Section 52-53 D. Stair: to second floor, ladder type. ArtII Section 52-27 A. Electrical: in porch, wall switch at entry and wall outlet requires plates, lamp cord outlet on north wall. Art. V Section 52-56 A 1. Second floor sleeping balconies, ceiling height is less than required 7'-6" minimum for habital space, Chap 100, Section 100-13, Floor Area Livable, code of the Town of Southold, N. Y.
