Upon receipt of an application for a Pre-Existing Certificate
of Occupancy I made an inspection of the buildings at the above
captioned premises. The dwelling was left open andibegan this
inspection at approximately 2:~0 P.M. ^
The dwelling is a one and one half story wood frame structure
constructed on a cement block foundation. First floor contains
kitchen, dining room, living room with fireplace,~bedroom with a
half bath. Second floor has two bedrooms, a full bathroom and a
large room that contains the stairway access between first and
second floor. Heat is supplied to building from an oil fired
warm air space heater with outlet located in living room floor. Hot
water is furnished to all plumbing fixtures within this dwelling from
an electric hotwater heater located in partial cellar. Screened
enclosed porch protects rear entry to kitchen and there is a screened
enclosed porch that runs on the easterly side of building around the
southerly portion of this structure and this porch protects front enry
to living room and the entry to the bedroom on the southerly end of
house. There is an accessory structure in the rear yard area. this is
a wood frame building constructed on a poured concrete slab a~d it
provides a workshop and storage area for one car.
The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52, Code
of the Town of Southold, N.Y. were found:
Dwelling
Entries - no means of controlling light in rooms at point
of entry. Article V, Section 52-56 B 2.
Light & ventilation - toilet room on first floor-inside room
there is no window or mechanical means of ventilation provided.
Article II, Section 52-26 b 4.
Interior protection - bathroom on second floor - no moisture
resistant floor covering provided. Article II, Section 52-26

HeatinE - heating system is insufficient to provide heat to
all habitable rooms within dwelling for occupancy between
the fifteenth day of September and the thirty first day of
May of the following year. Article V, Section 52-53 A 1

APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal--(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, /v~ultiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
5.Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural
or topographic features.
2.Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in-
formation required to prepare a certificate.
