Subdivision: Nassau Point, Lots 295 & 296
Tax Roll: Embree Jaillite & Wf.
Unoccupied
Upon receiving an application for a Pre -Existing Certificate of
Occupancy, I made an inspection of this one story wood framed
dwelling. I picked up keys from Lefferts P. Edson, Attorney,
Southold, and began inspection at approximately 1:00 P.M.
The dwelling consists of two bedrooms, dining room, living
room, kitchen, and full bathroom. An enclosed porch provides side
entry from exterior to dwelling. Heat is furnished to all rooms
from an oil fired forced warm air furnace located in cellar.
Foundation of building is cement block providing a partial
full cellar, balance being crawl space. Accessory structure is
a detached one car wood framed garage.
The following violations of The Housing Code, Chapter 52,
Town of Southold, were found:
Porch Entry - no means of controlling light in room
on entry. Article V, Sec. 52-56 B.2.
Cellar - crawl space area, post supporting flat
2 x 6 against floor joists sets in dirt
and is subject to termite damage. Article
III, Sec. 52-30 C. Open electric junction
box on bottom of floor joist, Art. V. Sec.
52-56 A.1.
One car garage - siding at rear of building - bottom and
second and fourth board from bottom- termite
destruction in siding. Article III, Sec.
52-31 B.
Exterior dwelling.- siding near outside cellar doorway
has dry rot. Art. III, Sec. 52-31 B.
Second floor being used for sleeping quarters and contains a
half a bathroom with dormer at rear of building. Head room for
second floor is six foot one inch (6'1"). This violates Zoning
