The purpose of the meeting is to obtain the Board's guidance regarding an application to replace a historically existing groin with a low-profile vinyl groin in the same location, pursuant to the Board's usual policy of limiting the height and seaward extent of the new groin. We have already discussed the application with staff from the New York State DEC, who indicated they would likely view the application favorably provided that the new groin is designed in accordance with the same limitations. Therefore, we hope to quantify those limitations with the Trustees during a mutual field inspection.
