Enclosed herewith is the Construction, Alteration or Modification
Permit for a Septic Tank or Cesspool System for which you applied.
Please be advised that each owner of real property operating an
on-site sewage disposal system, such as a septic tank or cesspool must,
prior to -such operation, possess in the name of the owner an Operation
Permit for the system. The Operation Permit ' is issued by the Town
Clerk's Office.
The fee for an Operation Permit is ten dollars ($10.00) for
residential use and twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for non-residential.
Please have the owner complete the enclosed Application for an Operation
Permit and return it to this office along with the proper fee.
For your general information I have enclosed an Informational
Bulletin regarding the Scavenger Waste Laws adopted by the Southold
Town Board. Should you have any questions pertaining to either permits
or the Scavenger Waste Laws, please do not hesitate to contact this
office. . We will be glad to assist you in any way possible.

Dear Mrs. Sutherland:
I have received your letter of November 9 , 1986 in which you
set forth the facts in having your cesspool system rebuilt in
September of this year. While I can appreciate the need for
remedial action in time of emergency, the action did preclude any
inspection of the system by a representative of the department.
In lieu of the fact that a program is not yet in place to process
and approve this type of installation, and since the replacement
cesspool was of precast concrete materials, and was installed in
the same location as the collapsed pool , and the system has
functioned satisfactorily since its installation, this department
has no objections to the approval of this installation by the
Town of Southold.

of the Morris Cesspool Service Inco I am providing you with
this certification of cesspool:
I installed one L. x 8 ft drainage ring and one
solid dome cesspool at the residence of Mrs . Anne Sutherland
Main Road, Orient, N.Y. to replace the old cesspool which
caved in . This installation was made in &august of 1986.
