This Regular Meeting of the Southold Town Tree Committee was called to order at 7:00 PM at
the Southold Town Annex.
Minutes from the May 27, 2015 meeting were approved.
Discussion items:
1. There will be a meeting of the Tree Committee July 29, 2015 in order to discuss and
plan for Tree Committee's float in the 375th Southold Town Anniversary Parade.
Dave has a vehicle that can be used. Jill will contact East End Sporting Goods to
order t-shirts and a banner. At this meeting, Jay will have the material for the
Columbus Day ads. Dave will have a date set for the ad for the Suffolk Times. Do
the donors want frames for their certificates or would they prefer to re-use the ones
they may already have?
2. Peggy Murphy reported she went to the Southold High School to talk about the tree
behind the Bridgehampton National Bank.
3. Philip Goldman reported the New Suffolk School District didn't have time for the
project about plant propagation before the end of the school year.
4. Jay Jansen reported that some of the students at Cutchogue East Elementary School
did not receive the activity sheets that the Tree Committee provided. Peggy was
going to check in on this.
5. The Annual Fishers Island Town Board meeting will be held August 5, 2015. If
interested in attending, contact the Supervisor's office by July 27, Monday.
6. Gerard Orientale has a client who is willing to donate money to the Tree Committee.
7. Donor list for 2014 Columbus Day ad to be emailed to all committee members.
