Terr~ , c'~ Southold Town ~lerl¢ To: Southold Town Board Judith Terry, Clerk October ~th,1984 OCT 3 1 1964 /¢.5/~p/ CaroLine McConnell, 7250 Main Bayview Road,South~ld. re ~' PropoHal for application to the Southold Town Board for a vaniance from zoning law to ~ermit divisio~ of prolmerty owned by Harold and Josephine Deneen at 6990 Main Bayview Road,Southold, New York. As yet, only a notioe, of intentiom, to apply for a hea~- lng by the Town Board has been received on the granting of a ~arianoe to Harold and Josephine Deneen to allow for the division of the abo~e 9roperty into three p~eels. Howe~r, I ha~e decided to writs in advance explaining my objections to the proposed division of the above named property into three par~s. The lot is only iO0' X 300' which, if divided as preposed would result in three lots 100' ~ lOd~' each. The purpose, I presume, would be 1~ produce t~wo more lots on whloh to build houses. This would entail putting lm many cesspools (probably four or six in all) which in l~rn would drai~ directly into my field. With the water table so high i~ this section, and the flow of a~derground water to $~a west, there would be no way to protect the water in m~ field from beceming contaminated. As a matter of fact, in rainy weather a veritable lake forms in the field. ~any years ago I allowed a former owner of one of the bungalows on the canal to dig a well in the field!. This is on the side of the field close to the Deneen property and would certainly become useless to the present owners of that bungalow should a varience be granted for division of the Deneen property dsscribe~ above. Therefore-, I would vehemently oppose the division of the Deneen property at 6990 Main Bayview Road, Southold, en the basis that such subdivision would lead to cen~am- ination of the ground water draining into my pr~pa~y. .aroli~e MeConn~~ JUDITH T TERRY TOWN CLtRK OFFICE OF THE TowN CLERK TOWN OF SOUTHOLD Town Hall, 53095 Main Road P.O.
