Dear Mr. Neilson: -
Regarding your letter dated May 16, 2016 to perform minor repairs to the West Harbor
pedestrian facilities at the,PIADC (Plum Island); the Board of Trustees reviewed your
request and have determined that this repair is minor in action. No permit will be
required from this office in order to perform these minor repairs.
If however, future major repairs are needed to be done to the pedestrian ramp and
surrounding area, permits may be required through this office.
Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this office.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

Re: Plum Island, West Harbor
Minor Repair of Ramp Hoists
Dear Mr. Bredemeyer:
It has come to our attention that the West Harbor pedestrian ramp facilities at the PIADC
(Plum Island) require repairs. These repairs are of a minor nature and relate to the ramp hoist
mechanism and support column. New hoist motors, cables and hoist beams beneath the ramp
will also be installed. Equipment and replacement pieces will be brought to the Island by
PIADC vessels. Work will be done by small equipment operated from land. No portion of the
work extends out beyond the face of the bulkhead wall. There will be no modifications to the
hinged ramp,the ramp well or the bulkhead.
Please give us a call if there is a requirement to permit this work.
