POLICY: At scheduled Town Board meetings, the attending public is encouraged to briefly
address the Town Board relating to agenda resolutions prior to their enactment; the public will
also be given time at the conclusion of the regularly scheduled business agenda to address the
Board on any given topic.

V. RESOLUTIONS
Special Note: At the start of the Town Board Meeting the Supervisor will invite the public to
speak on the following resolutions.
490. Authorize and direct Supervisor Horton to sign an application for funding under the Main
Street New York Downtown Development Initiative Program.
491 Authorize and direct Supervisor Horton to execute a Grant Extension for the agreement
with the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services for computer equipment and software.

Accept the bid of Hinsch Electrical Contractor, Inc. to supply and install sports lighting at
the Tasker Park tennis courts, adult softball field, and the roller hockey rink at Cochran
Park.

Authorize and direct Supervisor Horton to sign an Agreement with Hinsch Electrical
Contractor, Inc. for the supply and installation of sports lighting at Tasker Park and Cochran
Park.
494. Authorize and direct Town Clerk Neville to advertise for bids for the construction of a
tennis and basketball court at the Oysterponds Park.
495. Authorize and direct Supervisor Horton to execute all documents necessary to obtain credit
cards from MBNA for Town of Southold purchases.
496. Authorize modification to the General Fund Whole Town 2002 budget to appropriate
revenue for equipment and furniture for Adult Day Care.
497. Authorize modification to the General Fund Whole Town 2002 budget to appropriate
payment for tickets for Senior Trips and Excursions.

499. Appoint Kathleen Murray to the position of Assistant Town Attorney effective August 5,
2002.
500. Grant permission to Cornell Cooperative Extension to park at town beaches and road ends
for ongoing joint field projects.
501 Authorize the rental of the Solid Waste District's Re-Tech Trommel Screen to Shelter
Island for a period of two weeks.

Authorize the extension of D&B oversight of Terry Contracting closure activities.
Determine that the relocation of the Town Yard Waste/Composting Operations would not
significantly adversely impact the environment, and adopt a negative declaration pursuant to
SEQRA.
Authorize and direct the Town Clerk to advertise for the position of Maintenance Mechanic
! at the Human Resource Center.
Appoint Scott Fenton as a part-time Deckhand for the Fishers Island Ferry District.
Grant permission to Deputy Town Clerk Linda Cooper to attend a NYS Department of
Environmental Conservation training session for the NY Department of Environmental
Conservation Automated Licensing System July 23, 2002 in Stony Brook.
Authorize the construction of a new bridge on Peconic Bay Blvd. to cross Brushes Creek at
an estimated maximum cost of $425,000, and authorizing the issuance of serial bonds not to
exceed that amount.
Authorize a paid leave of absence using sick leave to a Town employee from July 25
through August 19, 2002.
Refund $35.00 to Phyllis Groenveld for a Notice of Disapproval from the Building
Department.
Refund $35.00 to Bruce Berger for a sign permit application from the Building Department.
Appoint Eric Keil and John Sepenoski to the Land Preservation Committee.
Authorize and direct the Town Clerk to advertise for RFP's for the Whitaker House.
Adopt the Board of Ethics Opinion with regard to choosing of outside counsel.
Adopt the Board of Ethics Opinion with regard to existing membership on the Board of
Assessment Review.
Appoint Brownell Johnston as Assistant Town Attorney for the purpose of providing limited
services to the Town Trustees at a salary of $1,000 per year.
