V. Roof Top ; Solar Panel Array, 8,54 kW Total Output, for ' Fisher Residence—65 Deerfoot Path Cutchoque, New York 11935 Dear Mr. Lawton: Pursuant to your request, I have reviewed the following information regarding the subject roof 'top solar panel array: S , • Cover Sheet with Site Visit/Verification prepared by E2Sys representative identifying specific site information including size and spacing of rafters for the, existing roof. • . Design drawings of the proposed system to include site plan, roof plan, mounting details for the solar'panels. This information was prepared by E2Sys and will be utilized for approval by the Town of Southold.and for construction of the proposed system. ' Based on the above documentation, I have evaluated the structural capacity of the existing system to support the additional loads imposed by the solar panel arrays and offer the following comments: The existing roof type is provided with asphalt shingles, 2"x6" Douglas Fir rafters at 16" on center, with 43° roof pitch for array#1, 28°for array#2, 60°for array#3, 2"x6" ceiling joists at ' 16" on center. Our review of the photos of the exterior roof indicates no signs of settlement or misalignment caused by overstressed underlying structural members. S Structural Analysis: The structural analysis has been carried out using the following design criteria: Design wind speed (3 sec.,gust): 120 mph S Ground snow load: 20 lbs/sq. ft. Solar Array 1: 2.6 lbs/sq. ft. Solar Array 2: S • ' . 2.9 lbs/sq. ft. r r Solar Array 3: 2.9 lbs/sq. ft. Total Weight of Array 1: 520.76 lbs Total Weight of Array 2: 423.7 lbs Total Weight of Array 3: 470.6 lbs The above values are within acceptable limits of recognized industry standards for similar structures. The structural analysis, performed for the existing structure and for the solar panel arrays, utilizing the above design loads, indicates that the existing roof rafters will be able to supports the additional panel weight without damage, if installed correctly. The onsite inspection and the photographs show that the roof framing is in good conditions. However, the dwelling owners are to be made aware that long term build up of heavy snow conditions may produce deflections in the roof structure. If any deflection is noticed, than it is recommended that the solar panels be cleared of accumulated snow more than one (1) foot deep over a period of one week. If no deflections are visible under any snow loading over a period of time, then there is no need to clear the solar panels. Based on the above evaluation, it is the opinion of the undersigned professional engineer, that with appropriate solar panel anchors being utilized, the roof system will adequately support the additional loading imposed by the solar panel arrays. This evaluation is in conformance with the 2010 Residential Code of New York State, the 2001 Wood Frame construction Manual, SEI/ASCE 7 "Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures", current industry standards and practice and based on documentation and data supplied by E2Sys at the time of this report. With the M250, the DC circuit is isolated and insulated from ground, so no Ground Electrode Conductor (GEC) is required for the microinverter. This further simplifies installation, enhances safety, and saves on labor and materials costs. The Enphase M250 integrates seamlessly with the Engage® Cable, the Envoy® Communications GatewayTM, and Enlighten®, Enphase's monitoring and analysis software. PRODUCTIVE SIMPLE RELIABLE -Optimized for higher-power - No GEC needed for microinverter -4th-generation product modules - No DC design or string calculation - More than 1 million hours of testing - Maximizes energy production required - and millions of units shipped - Minimizes impact of shading, - Easy installation with Engage - Industry-leading warranty, up to 25 dust, and debris Cable years [e] enphase® (At® N E R G Y C - 'US Enphase°M250 Microinverter 1/DATA INPUT DATA (DC) M250-60-2LL-S22/523/S24 Recommended input power(STC) ;' :210 -310-W = • - t' Maximum input DC voltage 48 V Peak-power tracking voltage y. - - - ?1.''= 2TV, 39 V • .; Operating range 16 V-48 V Min/Max start voltage :'t :-- .22 V, 48 V Max DC short circuit current 15 A OUTPUT DATA(AC) @208 VAC @240 VAC {{ Peak'output power 4 ' 250 W 250 W t';' 1 Rated (continuous)output power - _ 240 W 240 W Norninal output current :; _ j ia` 1:15'A(A-r`rris•at.norninal duration) 1:0 A(A rms at°nominal`duration),-,:-i Nominal voltage/range f, .
