Y. 11971 APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY Instructions A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in triplicate to the Building Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use: 1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusual natural or topographic features. 2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal—(S-9 form or equal). 3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters. 4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for the building. S. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable. B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non -conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing" land uses: 1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural or topographic features. 2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings. 3. Agricultural use Upon receipt of an application for a Pre -Existing Certificate of Occupancy I made an inspection of the buildings on this premises. Accompanied by Tony Sepnoski I began this inspection at approximately 2:45 P.M. The buildings on this property are used for a farming operation and are as follows: A large wood framed barn constructed on a concrete foundation contains a repair shop, grading platform and potato storage. A wood framed building used for storage of farm equipment. A wood framed workshop building constructed on a poured concrete, rubble stone and masonry foundation that provides a full cellar. A wood framed building constructed on wooden posts used for labor camp to house five occupants. A wood framed four room building used for labor camp to house seven occupants. This unit contains a kitchen and bathroom and is constructed on wood post foundation. A wood framed building constructed on wood posts foundation used as storage facility for labor camp. The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52, Code of the Town of Southold, N.Y. were found: Large Barn - Smoke stack for forced warm air furnace, in repair shop. Connection at chimney requires a minimum 4" of masonry from combustible material(siding of building). Article V, Section 52-54 B. Electrical -grading platform, junction box cover not in place. A 110 volt outlet hanging by conductor supplying current to outlet. Article V, Section 52-56, A.1.2. Farm Equipment Storage Building - Roof -shingles deteriorating and missing causing openings in roof. A tr icle III, Section 52-31 C. Work Shop - Stair to cellar, bottom steps of wood construction require additional riser and treads are uneven and not securely fastened to stringer. Article II, Section 52-27 A & Section 52-30 A. Labor Camp building -for seven occupants Heat Producing equipment-hotwater heater supply domestic hotwater to building is located in bathroom. Article V, Section 52-53 D. Gas Cooking range -no shut off valve at unit. Article V, Section 52- 52 B.2 -2 - Labor camp building for five occupants Smoke pipe for oil fired space heater runs thru ceiling and is not connected to a suitable chimney. Article V, Section 52-53 H.2 Section 52-54 B. Storage Building for Labor Camp Facilities Structural -supporting wood post on north west corner of building rotted away.
