Since October 22, 1954, I have lived next door to the property now owned by Kenneth H. Dimon, Jr., said property being known as 213 a/k/a 620 Knapp Place and designated on the Suffolk County Tax Map as District 1000 Section 034.00 Block 03.00 Lot 010.00. 4. My husband and I were friends of Kenneth H. Dimon, Sr. (now deceased) and his wife Lorretta Dimon, the prior owners, of the premises at 620 Knapp Place. 5. Beginning in October 1954, my husband (now deceased) and I socialized with the Ken Dimon Srs. on a regular basis in the basement bar and recreation room located at 620 Knapp Place, Greenport, NY. 6. I make this affidavit knowing that The Southold Town Building Department is relying on the truth of the contents of this affidavit in issuing a pre-certificate of occupancy for the dwelling at 620 Knapp Place, Greenport, NY. Dimon, Jr. He is the owner of the above premises. He Lq selling his Greenport house and moving to Florida. He is committed to closing on his new Florida house on July 26, 2002. However, 5e needs to close on the sale of his Greenport house before he can purchase the Florida house. There is a permit application pending for an "as built" deck and a variance proceeding pending before the ZBA for a variance for the "as built" garage, which is situated too close to the property line. The variance Proceeding is scheduled for July 25, 2002. The purchaser is willing to close on July 23, 2002, with an escrow pending the ZBA determination; however, the Purchaser will nor close without a certificate of occupasscy for the deck and an updated certificate of occupancy for the house. From speaking with Damon Rallis, I understand that Jolm has some reservations about issuing a certificate of occupancy for the house and deck before the variance proceeding is determined. However, since the house and deck c.o. issues are separate and distinct from the garage variance issue, I would greedy appreciate your agreeing to inspect the house and deck for purpose of issuing certit~ cutes of occupancies for these structures, prior to the variance hearing. If Mr. Dimoz~ is 'unable to close on the sale on his Greenport house before July 26, he is in danger of losing his Florida home and his downpayment. I've enclosed copies of the permits and cert:T~cates of occupancy, which were issued in 1960 and 1966 for the kitchen and family room extensions to the house.
