Moore, Esq. on behalf of GREG & CAROL KARAS requests an Administrative Amendment to Wetland Permit#8334 to construct an 8'x13' platform at grade 3' landward of the landing. Located: 135 Soundview Road, Orient. SCTM# 15-3-3 The proposed actions have been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is CONSISTENT with the Policy Standards and therefore is CONSISTENT with the LWRP. A 5' wide vegetated buffer was required in 7719 and 7719C. The deck is less than 200 square feet and landward of the top of bluff. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action. A platform has become a permissible and customary amenity on waterfront narcels. A prior platform existed on the nronerty for 20 years until a permit to reconstruct the existing stairs was requested from the DEC. The DEC required the existing Platform to be stepped back.
