Located: 235 Carole Road, Southold. SCTM#52-2-7.4 The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed actions is INCONSISTENT with LWRP Policy 6, specifically 6.3 (below) and therefore, INCONSISTENT with the LWRP. Policy 6.3 Protect and restore tidal and freshwater wetlands. A. Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements of the Southold Town Board of Trustees laws and regulations for all Andros Patent and other lands under their jurisdiction 1. Comply with Trustee regulations and recommendations as set forth in Trustee permit conditions. The structures were not constructed with the benefit of a Board of Trustees review or regulatory permits. Policy 4. Minimize loss of life, structures, and natural resources from flooding and erosion Both shed locations are located in FEMA flood zone VE (velocity hazard). It is recommended that the Board require the structures to be removed from this hazard area to further Policy 4. The proposed addition is located within the FEMA flood zone AO 2'. These areas are subject to inundation by 1-percent-annual-chance shallow flooding (usually sheet flow on sloping terrain) where average depths are between one and three feet. This area is mapped as 2 average flood depths (FEMA). It is recommended that the Board verify that construction will comply with standards set for this flood zone.
