HomeMy WebLinkAboutNFAWL - Animal shelter : `""&„°, RESOLUTION 2015-1008 '©� ADOPTED DOC ID: 11403 THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION NO. 2015-1008 WAS ADOPTED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD ON DECEMBER 15,2015: WHEREAS,the Town of Southold and the North Fork Animal Welfare League, Inc. (NFAWL) entered into an Agreement for the management of the Town Animal Shelter,which by its term was set to expire on May 31, 2015, and WHEREAS,the Town and NFAWL have been engaged in negotiating the terms of a new agreement and have previously executed memorandums of understanding extending the terms of the agreement to allow the negotiations to continue, it is therefore RESOLVED,the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby authorizes and directs Supervisor Scott A. Russell to execute a memorandum of understanding between the Town of Southold and the NFAWL extending the terms of the Agreement for the management of the Town of Southold Animal Shelter to February 29, 2016 to allow both parties sufficient time to negotiate the terms of a new Agreement. r • _ cit:q4„e://e, Elizabeth A.Neville Southold Town Clerk RESULT: ADOPTED [UNANIMOUS] MOVER: Louisa P. Evans, Justice SECONDER:Robert Ghosio, Councilman AYES: Ghosio,Dinizio Jr, Ruland,Doherty, Evans, Russell MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING This Memorandum of Understanding, made this day of December, 2015,by and between the Town of Southold, a municipal corporation of the State of New York, having its principal office located at 53095 Main Road, Southold,New York,hereinafter called the"Town", and the North Fork Animal Welfare League, Inc., a Section 501(c)(3) not-for-profit membership corporation of the State of New York,having its principal office located in Peconic, New York,hereinafter called the"League". NOW, THEREFORE,the parties mutually agree as follows: • 1. The term of the Agreement between the Town and the League for the operation of the Southold Town Animal Shelter dated May 26, 2011,which term has expired and was extended numerous times in order for the Town and NFAWL to negotiate the terms of a new agreement and have previously executed memorandums of understanding extending the terms of the agreement to allow the negotiations to continue, has been further extended to February 29, 2016 to allow both parties sufficient time to negotiate the terms of a new Agreement. 2. All of the remaining terms and conditions of said Agreement dated May 26, 2011 shall remain in full force and effect.
