Dear Mr. Condit:
Upon inspection of your property in respect to your application
for a ramp and floating dock, the Board of Town Trustees was dismayed
to find that they were already in place. This is in.violation of
Chapter 32, Article I Subsection 32-10 of the Code of the Town of
Southoldwhich states that "No person shall place ~uy piles, stakes,
buoys, piers, docks, bulkheads or other objects in or on any town
waters or public lands under or adjacent to town waters in the Town
of Southold ............ without first obtaining a permit therefor from
the Board of Trustees of the Town of Southold."
Although there is a rather high fine for such an offense, the
Board does not choose to take official action against you. They
would liketo cauti6n you, however, that auy similar incident in the
future will not be overlooked.
Yours truly,
PHILIP G. HORTON, PRESIDENT
BOARD OF TOWN TRUSTEES
