I personally walked the entire parcel on January 18, 1986 and
concur with fellow Trustees. Survey of January 16, 1986 that
Wetlands on parcel are regulated by Town Code. Habitat surrounding
the marsh areas on the parcel is very diverse and the cluster
concept seems tailor-made to this parcel if these diverse areas
can be left intact with their adjoining wetlands habitats.
The surveys designated "Marsh/Wetlands" areas seem accurate from
the perspective of a person walkin? the parcel and any construction
within 75' of areas so designated would require a "Wetlands" Permit
or waiver under that code.

RESOLUTION - JANUARY 7, 1986
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold has considered the

Dear Mr. Smith:
I write this letter on behalf of Charlotte Sage Jurgensen and
Bayview Realty Development Corp., who are the owners of the above
property. The property is located adjacent to Young's Marina at
the end of Sage Boulevard. In the recent hurricane, a great deal
of the bulkhead was damaged during the storm. We are presently
seeking to restore the bulkheads as they formerly existed.
In connection therewith, I am enclosing an Affidavit of
Charlotte Sage Jurgensen indicating the existence of the bulkhead
prior to the storm. I am also enclosing herewith a copy of the
Certificate of Occupancy for the structures located on the
premises.

I would like to point out that the proposed work does not con-
template enlargement or change in the current bulkhead, but only a
repair of what formerly existed.
I would also like to point out that the project is on the bay
and not the creeks and I believe we are entitled to an exception
under your ordinance.
I have also enclosed herewith photos showing the present con-
dition of the bulkhead.
I would appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible be-
cause, without repair to the bulkhead, serious erosion may occur.

CHARLOTTE SAGE JURGENSEN, being duly sworn,
deposes and says:
1. That I am the present owner of my home which
is located on Sage Boulevard in Southold, New York, and am
one of the former owners of the remaining thirty (30) cot-
tages adjacent to mine.
2. That I am presently sixty-two (62) years of
age and have resided at the subject premises all of my life.
Originally, it was an all year round home, and recently I
have spent the summers there.
3. That the property is presently bulkheaded and
the bulkheading has been in since at least the hurricane of
1938. From then until now, we have always repaired the
bulkhead when it was needed in order to insure that it was
functional.
4. That on September 27, 1985, the bulkhead was
damaged by Hurricane Gloria. The piles still remain. How-
ever, a great deal of the planking is gone. In the event
that the bulkhead is not repaired immediately, serious
erosion will be caused to the entire property, particularly
in front of my dwelling.
5. I hereby respectfully request that the Town
Board of Trustees approve the rebuilding of the bulkhead on
the property.
