RE: SPDES Permit- 10-83-1485
Gentlemen:
The Southold Town Trustees are still opposed to discharge
from any source, into our creeks.
Wa would hope that discharge could be minimized from all
sources. We would recommend that you consider ground re-charge.
Please be advised that town permits are necessary for this
project. I have enclosed the necessary applications for your
convenience.
Very truly yours,
Henry P. Smith, President

Re; Application of Bayview Ventures, Inc.
Dear Mr. Thurber:
The Trustees are opposed to the above referenced project
because it will change the salinity of the creek, which may
cause a pollution problem, in the water. This would possibly
deteriorate the marine life in the creek also.
The Board of Trustees would appreciate your careful
consideration To this application, in regard to the possible
problems that could occur.
We are very sensitive To protecting our Town's natural
resources and waterways.

Dear Mr. Brdemeyer,
I am very seriuosly considering the purchase of a 1.1 acre lot
in the tOwn of Mattituck. This lot is located on St
Willis Creek Drive off of Meadow Beach Lane in
The tax map number of this property
17 ), and is located on panel 116 of the
(community number 3608130116C).
Before I become committed in this transaction there are
several questions regarding aspects of this property that I would
like to discuss with you. At the request of an office secretary on
3/10/93, I am submitting these questions in letter form. I fully
realize that some of these questions will involve lengthy and
specific responses, for that I would like to thank you in advance
for your efforts.
ITEM #1 - Along the entire backyard property line for a
fairly constant depth of approximately 30 feet,
the canal bank is lined with very thick marsh
grass. I would like to know how feasible it
would be for me to obtain the necessary permits
to remove:
1. all of the grass along the entire property line
2. portions of the grass (1/4, 1/2, 3/4) along the
entire property line
3. all of the grass along a portion of the property
line (50 feet, 100 feet, 150 feet)
The intent of this removal would be to gain access to the
canal and to reduce the insect problems.
· TEM #~
In 1972 the canal located behind the property
was dredged to a depth of approximately 4 feet.
Presently, during low tide the depth is now
approximately 2 - 2.5 feet inthe center of the
canal and much shallower along the side,
clearly not navigable for anything much larger
than a flat bottom boat or a row boat. I would
like to know if it is to have the
canal redredged to a depth of and what
procedure would be required to enact this
dredging.
ITEM
What would be the requirements necessary to
build a dock along side of the canal or as an
inset into the property, and an access walkway
to this dock.
Again, I would like to take this opportunity and thank you for
your assistance. My family and I are looking forward with great
anticipation to a relocation to your community.
If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate in
contacting me at work from 8:00 - 4:30 pm weekdays at 737-3426, or
at home anytime after 5:30 pm at 474-5921.
S~cerely /
